Indian cuisine is known for its more than perfect recipes all over the world. People all over the world too, have been talking about our delectable recipes and swooning over our spectacular cuisine. In fact, America, Europe and Dubai have got some authentic desi restaurants too –serving the best of Indian cuisine. Vegetarian, non-vegetarian or vegan, Indian food has something in store for everyone. In fact, you can visit any corner of India and try a new dish and it will leave you awestruck every time. Today, let’s talk about some of the most popular recipes from the Indian cuisine which have the magical powers to bring a smile on your face, for sure!
So, here’s an all-day meal menu with some popular desi options which are more than perfect in every sense!
1. Breakfast: Upma or Dhokla?
We desis are kinda obsessed with enjoying a full-blown nashta in the morning. In our cuisine, we have so many delish options to choose from, South Indian dosas, idlis, vadas and Gujarati dhoklas, khandvis to Indori Poha and the all-time favourite puri halwa/sabzi. Here’s the popular South Indian breakfast for you to enjoy, a garmagaram plate of upma with some sambhar and coconut chutney on the side. Or, you can also go with this soft and spongy Gujarati-style dhokla recipe with some teekhi and meethi chutney to go with.
2. Lunch mein kya hai?
After a wholesome breakfast, all our heart desires is a simple yet comforting meal. And when it comes to lunch, we generally have rice and other accompaniments in common. Rajma, kadhi, chole or a simple dal, most people like to enjoy their share of rice with these beauties and the others may like a flavourful pulao or a fancy biryani paired with a simple raita. Here’s my personal favourite recipes – Sabut Moong ki Kadhi which is not just comforting but also high in protein. And the other option is a robust chicken biryani which gets done quickly and is loaded with aromatic flavours.
3. Shaam ka chai-nashta:
When it comes to snacking, we have infinite options to indulge in. A sleek warning for the health conscious ones to stay away because Indian snacks are droolworthy and you won’t be able to keep your hands off them. Kachoris, samosas, panipuri, vada pav, bhelpuri and what not – just hearing the name itself will get your hunger pangs at peak. Out of all the kachoris I have tried yet, Chana Dal Kachori is my favourite. The best way to enjoy it is with a cup of masala chai. No one can say no to pani puri and here are 3 different flavours of pani for you to enjoy at home. Go for it!
4. Winner winner, what’s for dinner?
Dinners are an elaborate affair, whether you’re at home or dining out at a restaurant. There is no hassle in preparing restaurant style dishes at home when it comes to our cuisine. Shahi Paneer is an all-time favourite with everyone and when paired with soft naans, some achar and lachcha pyaz, it can count as one of the best meals ever.
